-> Demo - Detailed

These are actual, unaltered video stills from our broadcast grade cameras and lenses. Images and clips were scaled down to fit the web media. Unlike competing vendors who use still images from a digital still camera to represent their video works. This is misleading and it doesn't show the actual video footage At TSPECT Prod,, what you see is what you get.

TERMS USED:

DP: Director of Photography - In charge of the lighting, look and overall composition of the scene. Do not be confused with a photographer because of the "photography" term used. Photography mainly involes with still and studio pictures. TSPECT Productions specialize in electronic cinematography, which is the process of capturing motion onto an electronic medium. We apply all principles of still photograhy (lighting, composition, and framing) and extend it to motion video. The area of continuity, shot selection, exposure are some of the few additional distinctions of a DP.

E-Cinematographer: Using advanced electronic film style camera, lens and filters to capture the event. Major difference between an electronic cinematographer and a videographer is the extra attention to lighting and picture composition. TSPECT Productions is currently at cinematography level - which is much higher than a videographer in terms of experience and quality.

OPTICAL FILTERS: These are used almost on every shoot to define a look of scene. For example, we'd like to make the sunset more intense. Not a problem. We choose the Sunset grad filter from our collection and can achieve that result instantly. Our growing Panavision sized filters are constanatly expanding. Incidently, these filters are the same on feature films and high end TV shows.

VIDEO FORMATS:

DVCPRO 50/480p - Standard defintion resolution for current DVDs. Shot on SDX900. Do not be dissapointed by the lower 480p standard definition. Because we use real HD grade lens, the picture quality is actually better than a consumer HDV (high def.) format. Quality lens, bigger CCD are major factors that contribute the quality. Another fact is that majority of our demo are all shot in standard def. format. We also show case some HD-Varicam demo. It's likely that you're unable to disern any major difference. Why? Major reason is the same HD-grade lens that was used.

DVCPRO HD 720p; HDCAM 1080i - High Defintion. resolution. Shot on Varicam or Cine Alta. Both formats are very close to each other interms of quality. According to SMPTE, the 1080i doesn't necessary has more resolution. This is because it uses temporal frame instead of active frame. Conversely, the 720p format (fr. Panasonic), offers more active pixel and fewer temporal frames. The debate continues as to which is a better format. You'll be the judge. We can assure you that both of these broadcast HD formats picture quality is very close, with the exception of the HD-Cine Alta being more cinematic and has a richer color than HD-Varicam.

HDV - High Def Video - Consumer format. It can records up to 1080i. There's a catch. The extremely high compression and limited audio capability puts this camera for serious amateur only. We don't think this format is ready for to compete with HDCAM or DVCPRO HD.

30P - Frame rate it shot at. For live events, it is recommended to be at 30P. We shoot 24P for staged events where there is full control over.lighting and activity.

CINE GAMMA: Video cameras using advanced electronics to emulate the film look. The end result is a soft, multi-million dollar look instead of the typical harsh news and reality "video" look.
